@EUCommission They did their part, they took a leap of faith.But what are we doing today to ensure Europe will be around and thriving in the next 69 years?Which leaps of faith are we now taking to meet the mounting challenges?I put it to you that we still live off the surplus that these early visionaries have created, rather than creating our own.And time is running out.

@Gargron for as long as our affairs down here on Earth are such a deteriorating mess it feels frivolous to pursue such vanity projects. There isn't much science or relevant technology to be had with insisting to roundtrip frail human bodies in deep space. If we have to, robotic missions much more to the point. But such is the power of projecting hegemonic strength. The Chinese also keen to make headlines. Like peacocks wasting enormous energy to demonstrate fitness... 🦚

@EUCommission you could share your experience and encourage more European institutions, member states, down to local government and cities to join the fediverse and take this platform to the next level. In the scheme of things an easy thing to setup and experiment, relatively low cost, participatory, decentralized, empowering. Digital tech that works for, not against society.The fediverse is grassroots, exists against all odds. With support it could evolve into something profoundly good🖖
