       I think harsher critiques like those of Taylor Lorenz are better to go with here. The bad-faith actors behind all this rubbish aren't going to grant you any credit for being nice or speaking in neutral terms. And they're liars e.g. the otherwise insignificant Marsha Blackburn has been caught on videotape saying that the purpose of her KOSA rubbish is „to eradicate the transgender” and lied about her motives later. Yank nuts like SEGM have been popping up here in Berlin and really all round Europe, too, so whenever Alice Weidel, Santiago Abascal, Giorgia Meloni et al speak, it's really Musk, Thiel, Doug Wilson et al talking.

       @MissConstrue @davidaugust The whole idea that other countries are implacable enemies hellbent on destroying the USA and/or West (which, despite the „free world” propaganda, largely merely adds satellite states to the mix puppeteered via Gladio-type operations and subject to affairs like the Greek Régime of the Colonels if they step too far out of line) has been a total lie. It wasn't just Tetris and Gorky Park (the band) in the West. There was a lot of interest in blue jeans and Western pop music and more on the „other side” of the Iron Curtain too. And the Iranians chanting „death to America” were disco dancing shortly before the revolution. The latest Lego video furthermore clarifies the actual Iranian stance.The real malefactors here are the Epstein (a.k.a. capitalist) class. There's never been danger in recent history of any other countries' armies marching down the streets of Berlin or Paris or London or New York. The real dangers are of (mostly silent) coups and tyrannical domestic régimes.

       @ariadne Hmm. I have a relatively difficult kernel project that I tried to carry out using LLM GenAI. It runs userspace, passes LTP and mm-stress in qemu for 20+ architectures, but eventually has trouble with some races on real laptop x86 hardware. Could I get away with rebranding the attempt as a Proof of Concept? The thing is a large, difficult project, so it would help to get some kind of mileage out of it.(To wit: In 2023 I used the subject of the project as an example of something that would be difficult for LLM GenAI to do because it involves a sort of new conceptual distinction needing to be imposed as a retrofit that can't piggyback readily on the type systems for common kernel implementation languages because it involves something akin to frequent dimensional analysis. It's unclear how to interpret the result of attempting to do it anyway. It feels close enough that blaming the user is well within reach as well as the usual conclusion that LLM GenAI isn't actually capable of it. So, in principle, I could also rebrand it as doing my 2023 example as an experimental test of LLM GenAI, with the major proviso of not really having had much methodology to the time spent on it.)

It suggests that basically bolting so much GOFAI atop it all that the LLM GenAI is a minor player might eventually get working code out of it all, albeit only with substantial human effort to avoid directly writing the code.
