       @eniko A long ago acquaintance of mine headed up a big name tech firm office in the Bay Area, and told me they'd much rather hire creative people and teach them coding, than hire coders and teach them creativity.... FWIW. :)

       @RickiTarr Believe it or not I don't remember! I think my mother cooked occasionally. I grew up in Iran, Lebanon, India, UK for a short while too before moving to the USA. We had cooks and house help except in the UK. My guess is in India we had a combination of more western (British) recipes and Indian food meals. I have absolutely no memory of what we ate in Iran and Lebanon. I do remember Sunday Lunch in Bombay at my grandparents. That was Parsi food! And UGH horrible boarding school meals!

       @RickiTarr Oh and I do remember a younger age visit to the UK from India, when I was not allowed to leave the table until I had finished my brussels sprouts. I HATED brussels sprouts back then. And an hour later they were cold and worse. Nowadays I love them. A fave side veggie - barely blanched, then sauteed in browned butter with walnuts and cranberries, with ham and kabocha squash is a fave.

       @Gargron It actually boggles my mind that they make doorknobs in assisted living homes. As we plan for our own old age, we are thinking about all these small details for remodeling our home. Including press switches instead of the small ones, lower down, and of course voice activated everything.

I am reaching the conclusion that people like Musk and Trump get ahead because they are so stupid they don't question their ideas, and other people cannot believe they are actually that stupid, so think they must have some actual plan.        @dangillmor It has been very depressing to see how easily too many people/institutions look the other way or cave. Years ago I stood up to a neighbour on our road who was a bully (litigator at major law firm, and that kept most on our road quiet) and a few neighbours thanked me for having a backbone and being the road loud mouth on their behalf. I just don't understand kowtowing to others who are clearly in the wrong. This guy flat out lied about stuff and I called him out on it. Publicly.

       @Gargron The only reason I slightly paid attention to this is that wider rather than higher might be of benefit. I'm always dropping my phone because it's top heavy the way I hold it and with case. BUT I had been planning to make it last until it died. I kept my former phone until the battery started to act up, my broker said it would no longer allow me to log in with my DATED phone, and I was a bit afraid it would set the house on fire it got so hot. :) My current phone is about 3 years old.
