@sun@shitposter.world VGA is not magic. It's made of gates... I had maybe the first truecolor VGA board on my desk at Everex made from mostly 7400 chips/discrete logic once. It took up 3 ISA slots an I wasn't allowed to touch anything! It's probably the FPGA that contains that logic that's the cost. Probably there's a cheap one now that can be programmed with VGA logic.

@Junes@clubcyberia.co I kept waiting but not only did "copy + paste" not get better, it got compromised then beaten up and ended up far worse than before!2026 Linux : copy+paste works, barely2026 Windows : copy+paste works, sometimes2026 Macintosh : copy+pate works, mostly, but is fairly limited1990 NeXTStep : copy+paste works, you can have multiple pasteboards, selective pasteboards, intelligent pasteboards and it all works beautifully+often surprises you with a "better than expected" result.

Concern:A million jobs have been moved to Mexico out of the US quite recently. Assuming you think that's peachy-keen...If a foreign power wants to take out GM, aerospace, medical instrument manufacturing... everything. They target Tijuana, Monterrey, and Querétaro.Among other things this will take out GM => bankruptcy.A smart competitor nation could declare war on Mexico w/out rousting the US too much ==> major financial turmoil/reorg in the US.No longer is necessary to attack the US to cause a fintech meltdown in the US.It seems all the easy paths to prosperity are being heavily coveted worldwide.

Xray machine that made your vision go matrixy-weird. Etc.There was a woman there the "nurses" (we called them that then) called "the new girl."The new girl was in her forties so it came up for discussion maybe she had worked there for awhile. Next time we went to the dentist we asked how long the NEW GIRL had been working there.~20 years.Yeah. I don't know but I can find out the answer. Oh there she is- ask the new girl!
