Can we talk about how podman (and I assume docker) have commands called "start", "exec" and "run", which all do different things with different flags and that's just really bad ergonomics and I don't care how containerpilled you are

One of the comments on the PRs implementing the OS age api I think is going to stick with me.The age api is required in like 3 states in the usa and brazil I think? I imagine the US one will catch like wildfire and be implemented in more states/federally, because surveillance state go brrrrrrrrrrrrPeople are concerned that they're going to get fined if these laws aren't implemented, which drives their apparent eagerness to get this implemented and merged in the for their LTS release. And likeI think one person had a good pointIf, say, Russia or China asked you to route all outgoing requests through their servers, would you? Would you do the same if the usa required it of you? If your answer to the first is no and the second yes, then you're either hoplessly naive or your state is coercing you and you should maybe consider resistance instead of compliance.

@enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be Definitely, it's why I phrased it as resistance. There's risk to it. These kinds of projects, due to their nature are fairly distributed compared to tangible companies like canonical, redhat and system76. I'd argue that in most cases the government is not going to come after the individuals, especially of component projects (ie. Flatpak who's been highlighted recently) for non-compliance. But I don't know if that's actually based in reality and doesn't entirely mitigate the risk.I'm definitely not going to chastise anyone for being scared of the powers of the state(s) that have direct power of them though. It just hurts to see the eagerness in, and pushing aside of concerns about, effectively globalizing surveillance laws.

@puniko@mk.absturztau.be Both tbh 🤷♀️ I use tau when I need 2*pi and I used pi when I need tau/2

See gender is actually fat-soluable, I'm working on a preperation method that should pull the gender out of store bought gender binary into a high clarity gender soup

@brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org Yeah, there are some better options lately. Just disappointing some of the older shows I held dear, and some newer shows that are awesome but are just /oof/ for me as a result.

@brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org Also, to be fair, I think frieren does have /some/ fan service. Tasteful and of an of-age character, so I'm totally pro-that, but lol

@brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org I generally give them a pass on that, they didn't get too over the top with the detail there and played it purely as comedy imho

@lethalbit@chaos.social All I can think is instatiating the parent class in ffi-lang and then monkey patching the methods on that specific instance that you want to override.... But I'm really not sure how much that messes with the python class system....

I think I've said this before, but I wouldn't be surprised if gender segregated bathrooms weren't created for women's safety but instead to protect the "dignity of women" (Men being grossed out by women having bodily functions).
