so the PDFs are easy enough to deal with. I’ll need to organize them a bit, but whatever.however, a significant number of docs is now published in html format. and amd in their infinite wisdom decided to publish that via some unholy JS viewer contraption that fetches one section at a time, and stitches them together in some infinite scroll way (which of course breaks all the time, hence me getting incredibly pissed off)which means I’m now downloading 619701 HTML documents of the average size of ~2kB. and then I get to glue them together into something that is actually readable.

we’re walking around the town with my sister, exploring some area we haven’t been to yet. at some point we decide it is time for a snack break, so I pull out a two-part snickers bar and we prepare to chomp it.however, some 10yo boy walks up to us and aggressively demands the snickers. he doesn’t take no for an answer, and starts to fight us. so I decide to bite the fucker with full force.at this point, I wake up, finding myself with my roommate’s front leg in my mouth, jaws tightly shut around it. she has also just woken up, and says a very confused “hiii?”. and I give her a very long and awkward apology of “I’m so sorryyyyy I thought you were a 10yo asshole trying to steal my snickers bar”welp I think I just had my first sleepbiting incident?

(spoilers if you don’t want to waste your life figuring out what is going on in the second screenshot: the words are transmitted most significant byte/word first; bit numbering within the word is as if you took LSB-first numbering and XORd bit number with 7. yes they literally bit-swapped the bytes.)

being interested in history of FPGAs and old electronics in general means simultanously being excited about a PDF having giant “ALL DEVICES DISCONTINUED” written diagonally across the whole document in red, and also being very annoyed at how it impairs readabilitywish there was “inspect element -> display: none” for PDF readers
