       @switchingsoftware @protonprivacy The mail reads to me like an affiliate program. That wouldn’t track users (or ar least not more than clicking any other link)? It lets Proton track that you provided the link, but I don’t see an impact on user privacy.

       @switchingsoftware @protonprivacy Hmm, getting the product for free and some kickback if you bring customers towards their service is how affiliate programs normally work I would say. It’s not inherently evil. It carries the risk that people think you mention them because they pay you. But that’s a reputation risk on your side, not a problem for your readers as such.
