       @CharlotteEowyn i did a relatively thorough media search and purported surprise at the existence of trans people crops up every eighteen months (i think?) back to the invention of newspapers. anyway, its a constant staple of the news and always has been.

       it has been four weeks since i left the convalescent hospital and my body and brain still wake up every morning expecting breakfast to be laid out and ready for me. ive been utterly spoiled.

       Happy Transgender Day of Visibility, Fam.I am celebrating with the traditional transition timeline!  Later I will wear my obnoxious Trans Pride skirt while running errands around town.        i am increasingly of the opinion that any media property that purports to feature or document trans experience but focuses solely on a single, solitary trans person is AT BEST doomed to fail in a quagmire of insipid platitudes but far more likely, frankly, to be transphobic propaganda—no matter how well-meaning the creators believed themselves to be.or to put it more simply: any depiction of trans experience that doesn't include trans community is fucking LYING to you.
