       A large wildfire is bearing down on my hometown, and the county office of emergency management's only information outlet is a Facebook page that requires a Facebook account to view.Let me say that another way: access to vital life safety information is gated on selling your PII to Meta.Edit: https://app.watchduty.org is a very good alternative.

       @ariadne Uggggh... I wonder how much time is lost every year to bad SD cards? I guess I'm fortunate that the last two cards had very obvious physical faults. Turns out SD cards shouldn't be folded.

       @ariadne Up until January, "Dwyer's place in Ballard" would have been a good answer. I would have happily pulled a few out of my "Dead Media" bin for you.Alas... I guess I'd try Office Depot Staple Max or whatever. I've seen some shockingly ancient tech for sale there. (Probably not at 9pm though.)
