       I happened to have access to an M4 MacBook Air, so I tried out building the Swift compiler. It took ~ 1.5 hours, which is a full hour faster than my M1 Pro 🥲

       I love getting together with other developers, and if you can do it in any capacity, you should! I have so many amazing memories from past WWDCs.But we cannot ignore that some of those developers are targets of the US government. Apple supports this. X exists only to support this.

       I had a chance to check out a nano texture display. First time I’d ever seen one.Lack of reflections was jaw dropping when side by side with standard. Just amazing.It’s fuzzy? I was rubbing my eyes the whole time. It is just me?Cool, but definitely not a tradeoff I could ever make.

       The narrowed any Swift proposal is a cautionary tale. LLMs enabled rapid development and incredibly technical writing. But that was the *exact opposite* an effort like this actually needed. Work that involves other humans is getting harder very rapidly and those skills are becoming more valuable than ever.

       Watching someone be unkind and just generally unhelpful to a beginner in a Swift discord and, honestly, it’s just so sad. I saw someone say that an LLMs killer feature is it will never be rude to you and, oof that hurts.

       @Gargron I have no doubt!But what I hope for is a hybrid ActivityPub/ATProto service. Technically, very messy and with massive tradeoffs, but collaboration is the only truly social move I see here.
