On my ThinkPad laptop, I removed KDE Plasma and replaced it with XFCE. I had been trying out Plasma for about a month. I can see why people like it, but I don't think it matches my priorities. Despite knowing about XFCE, I just hadn't used it much up until this month. Right now, I am quite enthused about it. I think XFCE is a great mix between minimal, modular and the helpfulness that can come with a desktop environment. #Linux #XFCE #ThinkPad

There's a balance between being social and having privacy. Privacy does not have to mean that everything you do is cloaked and no one knows who you are. It means that not everything you do, say, or think is being watched and recorded without your permission. This post is NOT private! I am publishing for all to see (though only a small number of people will see it). If I want to communicate details of something to a friend or a business client, I would use an encrypted messenger so that those details are not published for all to see. Privacy is taking the steps limit the broadcast of information about your activities. No law can accomplish that. Only you. #privacy

Make sure to keep the Optiplex around. If buying new, I usually recommend AMD Ryzen over Intel. However, the AceMagic product website didn't display very well for me (also hadn't heard of them before) and specs says memory can be upgraded to 32GB (which is fine). Intel based Chuwi machine says it can be upgraded to 64GB memory (better) and the website looks good and is informative. More ports on the front. In my estimation, the Chuwi Intel machine comes out a little ahead between these two.
