       His lawyers probably advised him that resigning would lead to a lesser sentence WHEN he is convicted as it can be "claimed" to show genuine remorse despite being the damage limitation of a sociopathic narcissistAnd I suspect he has enough dirt on so many other members of the house and senate that he is almost GUARANTEED to get a left wing judge, left wing jury, in a left wing state and a MUCH lower sentence than some factory worker would have gotten for doing far LESS 😉
