Ich überlasse es den Experten unter meinen Followern zu berechnen wieviel Strom ein Elektroauto verbraucht das im Schnitt 42 Minuten am Tag bewegt wird. Es wird relativ wenig sein. Die 42 Minuten sind nicht fiktiv, sondern der deutschlandweite Durchschnitt für privat PKW laut MiD (Mobilität in Deutschland) Studie 2023. Private PKWs sind im Schnitt 21 Stunden und 6 Minuten zuhause geparkt. Stellt euch mal vor das wären alles eAutos, die ihre Akkukapazität dem Netz zur Verfügung stellen würden, Solarkapazitäten zwischenspeichern und damit die Bedarfsspitzen lokal ausgleichen. Strom für Privathaushalte wäre damit nahezu gratis. Dezentrales Denken macht vieles besser. ;) Seite 91 a.a.O.2/2

Music on my iPod Nano 3rd gen, synced from my collection that lives on my NAS server, ebooks on my XTEINK 4, synced from my collection, you guessed it, that also lives on my NAS server. That’s reading and listening without surveillance, completely offline. I like. Back to the Future we wanted, not the one that we got instead :)Oh. And all files legal. In #München installieren Freiwillige aus dem Verein Solar2030 e.V. Balkonsolar in Haushalten, die sich das selbst kaum leisten können. Sie finden die Haushalte über ihre Zusammenarbeit mit den Münchner Tafeln. Für die Empfänger ist das alles kostenlos. Der Verein kümmert sich auch um die Anmeldung bei der Bundesnetzagentur. I don't use commercial VPN (Virtual Private Net) offerings, but when a Swedish VPN company defends (in my opinion) massive donations by one of their CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) to a far-right political party with "free speech" and "it's his private choice", it tells me it's not a company I would consider to use as VPN provider. My timeline (which contains a lot of project leaders/sysadmins from big projects) is filling with posts about a new, ongoing wave of what most likely are scrapers collecting training data for „AI“ companies. They seem to be using botnets (or what some call „residential IP proxies“ to make it sound a bit more legitimate) with millions of IP addresses, making it really hard to defend against. Some have decided to take their sites down until this is over. This is now the world we live in :(

Age verification means identity verification. And it removes the final remnants of anonymity from the internet. Anonymity in the sense of being in control of the decision to share your identity is however a requirement for a public space. The internet can never be a public space with identity verification. That’s what is at stake, in my personal opinion.1/2

And to those that say that anonymity (or rather pseudonymity) can be implemented with zero knowledge proofs — yes. But that’s not what is being used in currently preferred age/identity verification „solutions“ which tend to be centralised, commercial offerings.2/2

ADDENDUM: I said „final remnants“ because the ad/tracking mafia already has powerful capabilities to identify individuals with high probability of correctness. Avoiding their fingerprinting and correlation capabilities is almost impossible.

Bartering physical goods is frowned upon in capitalism. It distorts the calculation of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and other metrics. It’s productive anarchy ;)So. I now spend quite some brain cycles on the ongoing impact of bartering immaterial goods, which is often ignored or not (yet) understood. Open source/Free Software is one area of immaterial bartering. To me it feels like the natural state.1/2

Forcing artificial scarcity concepts like proprietary licensing and DRM (Digital Restriction Management ;) on digital data feels counterintuitive. The reproduction costs are effectively zero. So bartering as a fundamental concept feels more natural. I feel there is a deeper concept of post-scarcity hiding here that we will soon uncover and accept as the better way. ADDENDUM: this goes back to researching the history of copyright (US/UK) and the different post-French Revolution Droît d‘auteur concepts that underly the more European style of rights ownership. Copyright is what is says. The right to make copies, coming from a time where printing presses were the source of monopolistic power. Whereas Droît d‘auteur moved towards a different approach of ownership of immaterial goods. But that’s another TED talk ;)
