       @zkat I suspect some folks interpret LLM-abstinence/boycott/protest as an extension of "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" , with loads of folks nodding in agreement, but far fewer actually modifying their behaviour in alignment the world is messy and complicated and it's far too easy for individual actions to have unintended negative consequences 🫂like carbon emissions, i think we need systemic solutions here rather than "individual responsibility", e.g. procurement rules that forbid spending tax payer money on LLM-generated codethe "individual responsibility" angle then sorts itself out as demand for artisanal skills and code is maintained 🤷
