@fribbledom never set and export JAVA_HOME globally, that's an ancient JDK 1.1 curse. Never add a jre to a system or user PATH for a non-OS package or development environment, leave that to the OS to manage for OS packages. Set PATH and JAVA_HOME locally within scriots, if necessary.

@dosnostalgic I had that one. After enough playing, on some holes, you could pixel count the aim point, and if your swing was good, straight in the hole every time. I don't think there was any randomness in the flight and roll of the ball. Pretty satisfying knowing you could almost guarantee 3 hole-in-one in your round.

@stux I think it's the right decision, but it's something that they're making it off of non-credible "post impressions" metrics from the platform itself. Ad-supported platforms charge advertisers based on those metrics, and keeping them puffed up bring in money. Have platform metrics ever been trustworthy? Who's been auditing them? Advertisers? Definitely not.

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon most of the 30 US oil companies signed agreements when the Vz industry was "nationalized"...which was the Vz govt _buying_ controlling stakes. 3 held out via international arbitration and settled. 1 didn't. That lone holdout was eventually acquired by Chevron, who now claim some ridiculous harm that they could've avoided. Pure imperial greed.
