239) publicly agree with Russia/china that UN resolution 2231 is dead and that "snapback" sanctions don't need to be placed on iran because of it, and because the US has walked away from the negotiating table.Generally : walk back from the march 6, 2025 extra sanctions placed on #iran by #canada on the grounds that resolution 2231 required them, and work with UN to bring the US/Israel back to the negotiating table.

What would this look like? UNIFOR has some ideas but those aren't particularly important for this post.I think the first step is *identifying* sustainable domestic supply chains. What I would consider to mean 'sustainable domestic supply chains' would be * parts of supply chains that are *entirely* within canada (or canadian waters, or in international spaces such as canadian-involved outer space/Antarctica) * using materials that are sourced entirely within canada[/abovementioned spaces] (perhaps special permission could be used for materials that are sourced from outside of canada (but also outside of the US) where canada has a superfluous and cheap supply of them) * using renewable energy [+nuclear fission/fusion] only (including for transportation)* involving materials that are recycleable using infrastructure available to do so with *some* thought to how it will get there[ie at least a potentially closed-loop process]* made with labour by canadian citizens + PRs (eg no TFWs) (+ refugees/***maybe*** prisoners)* that do not otherwise cause damage to the environment in some lasting way that i am not thinking of currently(ie no stuff like spilling canadian polonium satellite parts all over the northern tundra)If any finished good comes out of such a supply chain perhaps it could qualify for a 1% GST "sustainability" exemption (this would not be a lot of things).A small bureaucracy could be set, perhaps as part of Industry Canada to regulate these supply chain certification. And a small green (sustainably made) ribbon could be made and distributed to any employee who participates in one(as a token of appreciation).There's also other generally useful things that could be done including a bunch of stuff already discussed(transportation, rest areas for truckers, east west-energy grid, dealing with covid, more reliable/renewable energy, working with international partners, having a functioning healthcare system, having a clearinghouse for industrial designs, getting out of restrictions on our sovereign right to have our own legislation by international trade agreement, etc etc), but also in principle "AI" [as Mark Carney is betting the house on, though we may disagree on the "how"]. Open for ideas on specific supply chains that could use extra help beyond this (and beyond mentioned thus far) and other ways that supply chains can be strengthened
