The new #C64Ultimates are now available as C64C-style "slimline" models. From original 1986 molds that were last seen with Individual Computers (afaik).Conspiracy theory: More collaborations between Commodore and iComp coming up (maybe for the FPGA Amiga iComp has been working on) in the future?

Demand seems to be high. New A1200/A500 cases and keyboards do already exist from A1200net. Would "just" be a matter of getting the legal stuff sorted out and waiting for the Amiga board to be finalized (last I heard that might still take a while).

@dosnostalgic Epson is a good option. I had no problems finding a new ribbon for my RX-80 from the 1980s. I think these things are still being used for some purposes to this day. There are even still official Windows drivers for those ancient machines on the Epson website.

I ordered some C2N datasette replacement belts from a small ebay seller. They created the invoice on an Amiga 600 and printed it out on a Star NL 10 dot matrix printer.This is the way.#RetroComputing #VintageComputing

Unpopular opinion:The vast majority of people won’t notice any difference between a real SID chip and the latest replacements/emulations in a blind test. I include myself, especially for the newer 8580 SIDs. My hearing is quite good and I’m a trained audio engineer.DON‘T rip SIDs out of C64s!

@dmian @tristan I actually witnessed a blind test with well established audio engineers back when mp3s were introduced to the general public. Starting at around 256kbps, virtually nobody could tell the difference to an uncompressed signal (listening over studio monitor speakers in a treated room). And that was when the codec was in its infancy. There’s always been a lot of psychology in audio stuff, especially when it comes to selling something expensive. ;)
