       @Gargron exactly.  To me, all forms of art are still about the human connection-- "Art is a tryst, for in it maker and beholder meet."  The artist is communicating something that the beholder receives.  With computer-generated art, the sentience on the other end is simply not there, and any "connection" is just an illusion.

       @dangillmor among other things, maybe pass laws requiring products of generative "AI" to include a piece of metadata that marks them as such, and can be used to filter it all out?  Otherwise, it's just more tech that enables lying and disinformation.We should *not* be striving to make machines that can pass the Turing Test.

       @malwaretech reminds me of the 1990s (?) dirt-simple exploit whereby you could crash a Windows machine merely by sending it any OOB packet.  Yes, I tried it and it worked.  I later saw code for it in an exhibit of various exploits at Madrid's Reina Sofia art museum.  Cool exhibit.Edit:  Found it-- it was called WinNuke.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinNuke
