       @malwaretech Not sure that Proton’s 100% true statement - that they only respond to requests from the Swiss authorities - is “intentionally misleading”. As you have outlined, it is literally the truth.We’re all aware that international treaties exist. But, as you also outline, they are subject to domestic law. And that isn’t a given - breaking US tax law is unlikely to have any impact on Swiss authorities, who would likely deny requests for assistance before it ever reaches Proton. I don’t like Proton much as a company - they do too many things, for one. I don’t use them (any more). But I don’t think your attempt to deliberately stir up FUD about them is warranted here.

       @gardiner_bryant Then you don’t understand that “CANCEL THIS PUBLICAITONNOW!!!?!” just because they dared to publish an opinion piece you didn’t agree with is a problematic position to take.The best people listen to people who they don’t agree with - and then consider those opinions before then disagreeing with the person. The worst people decide that publications who welcome freedom of thought should somehow be punished for it.You can do better. You can argue against the points that this guy made. But to argue that all viewpoints that don’t agree with yours should be silenced - and to recommend cancellation of the publication - shows a depressing dullness of thought.

It seems you are even less interested, given your reaction to a story you didn't like is to encourage people to cancel their subscription to the publication that carried it.This really isn't hard. Bullying publications not to carry opinions you do not agree with, by encouraging people to cancel their subscriptions, shows you've no real interest in any conversation (or "conversion", sorry). You're just interested in stifling the voices of people who disagree with you. You seem quite upset that I've pointed this out.Sorry you didn't like what the bad man wrote in his piece.
