okay so from what i can tell, the document foundation had to remove from its board of directors employees of companies involved in litigating libreoffice, and people are mad about thatthat seems like an extremely reasonable thing to do though? especially because of legal requirements? i keep reading blog posts from people upset they were removed from a volunteer position because of "guilt by association" but nobody actually seems to be addressing the fact that all TDF did was end a conflict of interest that was causing legal issues. i feel like i have to be misunderstanding this because it really looks like one side going "hey theres nothing we can do, everyone is still welcome in the community but we have to do this for legal and ethical reasons" and one side pouting and going "youre being mean, this is guilt by association! i didn't join the board of directors of a nonprofit to engage in politics!" like my guy, a nonprofit is entirely about politics, both internal and external lmao

like you really cant have organization A being run by employees from organization B when organization B is involved in a legal dispute with organization A. that's just nonsense. that's not guilt by association that's a conflict of interest. if anything it seems like TDF has just freed collabora employees from an extremely sticky position (values-driven volunteer work vs finances-driven employment)
