       @internetarchive @eff There is possible room for compromise. If the publications are worried about losing readers to the Internet Archive, simply agree to embargo new content for a set period like 6 months.

       @internetarchive @masnick.com @mark @kendraserra I wonder if that is just an excuse to prevent archiving.Though as an AI skeptic, I can support efforts to find a technological way to prevent scraping which could distinguish it from archiving.

       @internetarchive Online petitions are totally useless. Sorry but true! Get actual subscribers to contact the publications to suggest a compromise. One possibility is a 6 month embargo on links from those publications before the Wayback Machine can publish them.

       @internetarchive When was the last time an online petition accomplished anything major? The Archive should recruit engineers who can make such blocking ineffective.
