I was playing a record, heard it skip and looked over to see Spiegel on the turntable again.Between the inelegant jump (he rarely skips the needle) his posture in the photo and how one ear is pointed backwards, maybe he's telling me he doesn't want to be listening to Strange Advance, the new wave band that formed here in Vancouver in 1981?The "Spiegel hates this" playlist now has 8 tracks in comparison to "Spiegel likes this"'s 61. Sadly not #spiegelapproved

The music finished a couple minutes ago. He stood up, turned around, looked down at the record, then looked behind the record player, stood for a bit and now is sitting again. Like he's waiting for something.

@misty I did know this but didn't know where "iPod" came from and Wikipedia says the name idea came from "open the pod bay doors, Hal" from the "2001: A Space Odyssey" movie.This also got me to check for the one time I recorded a podcast and it was in 2005. Doubt the recording exists anywhere, which is for the best

Spiegel's been gaining weight over the last year, having spent his early adult years at 10-11 lbs despite being long enough to claw my butt when I'm standing. He was 11 lbs a year ago but is now close enough to Sando's weight that the litter robot can't distinguish between them.(Sando is a forever kitten of infinite density.)Now, Spiegel gets pancreatitis about once a year, he's on a special vet food and I have to stick to certain brands of treats so he doesn't get into a barfing habit. I'd generally been more concerned about him losing weight, yet here we are.I guess I need to do something about this, though I'm not sure what. The cats don't really play with me anymore, they more like to chase and wrestle each other. Both cats get the same food, and Spiegel will wake me up if he's hungry (though usually just does that for attention). I was hoping to put off using feeders with RFID readers to limit what each cat ate...
