@GossiTheDog I'm on mastodon\.social and I couldn't post comments or anything, but the app was still giving me notifications from folks like you that I follow who are on other instances, so that's cool.

@gardiner_bryant I'm stoked to order mine. I got tired of waiting on the Steam Machine and built my own with better hardware and Bazzite, but I'm still stoked about the controller and the frame.

@gardiner_bryant I really hope they allow pre-orders with this because the release of the Steam controller was an absolute shit show. I set an alarm for the release time and when I tried to buy it I got an error "initializing payment" even though I pre-loaded my Steam account with the money specifically for that purpose. After half a dozen tries I waited an hour for things to die down. I tried again, got no error, just a page refresh 3-4 times, then it said it was out of stock. Scalpers...

@gardiner_bryant For most people you're absolutely right. For those of us in rural areas with little infrastructure, we'll always need cars. I would like to see more public transportation infrastructure though. Right now the east mountain parkway here in Kentucky is being expanded and moved. I would have preferred a high speed rail. It would have been so nice to be able to walk or drive to a train stop and catch a ride to Lexington or Louisville, which is normally a 2-3 hour drive each way.

@Gargron YouTube has been auto-dubbing a lot of folks's videos to languages other than the one it was recorded in, so you might be able to find a useful guide in English or something else and then just switch it to Spanish in the player settings.

Had my nephew up the other day and he and my daughter played several games on the living room couch gaming PC, including Dudelings Arcade Sportsball ( by @gardiner_bryant ) and, I guess because somebody else was playing and I was watching, I noticed there's some funny parodies of big company names in the backgrounds while you're playing; like "Nintendump" or "Microspy", :-p#Gaming #PCGaming

@gardiner_bryant OnlyLonely took me a second or two to get, and then I realized it's probably a pretty accurate description of that demographic, 😛

@gardiner_bryant It also won't recognize several otherwise normal characters in filenames either. While not super common, sometimes I'll include things like a colon ( : ) or a quotation mark ( " ), usually when I'm ripping a Bluray and those characters are in the title of the movie or show. I use Samba shares to let my kids browse certain folders without write permissions on the server, and have noticed a few times those filenames will get totally scrambled.

@gardiner_bryant This is actually pretty cool. I played the reignited trilogy on my Steam Deck and really loved it; it's one of very few games that I actually got every achievement for. This however is awesome not just for replay-ability, but preservation of a classic. I hadn't heard about it, but I'll definitely be archiving it on my NAS, thanks!
