       @eff This is a very tricky problem with no obvious solutions. The Internet is toxic to children AND any mechanism I heard of so far threatens Internet anonymity. Perhaps this modest proposal. Create a Texas styled bounty mechanism that allows people to collect from Internet sites that allow children to see harmful content. Heck, the kids would love this one they'd all be rich.

       @EUCommission The EU should fine Meta (or any other web property) a fine for violating the rules and then pay 1/2 the fine to the person who reported it. This will enlist an army of 12-year-old kids who sign up just to report Meta and collect a fee. I suspect that Meta would find a way to keep the 12-year-old kids out if this happened.

       @stux How are you guys dealing with the proliferation of e-bikes. Here in the American backwater, it's a mess. You have 13-year-old kids with type III (basically an e-motorcycle) driving on sidewalks and killing pedestrians. The solution of punishing the kid's parents doesn't really help. It seems like we need to re-engineer our streets and licensing of vehicles. What have you guys done?

       @stux The problem is a certain percentage of humans are messed up in such a way that they still feel a greedy need to be the "most wealthy" rather than simply being satisfied with everything they could ever need or want. You are psychologically normal, but the ultra wealthy seem to be abnormal.

       @eff The EFF does a good job of describing the pitfalls of age verification tools. It also admits that there are needs for tools like this. Perhaps instead of criticizing the approach taken by California, Australia, and other places, the EFF could propose some alternatives? Surely the EFF isn't saying that we have to simply live with the fact that the Internet is shit.
