@niconiconi @cccpresser had no idea about the diff between mils and metric. I figured if you kept to the manufacturers stated feature size, everything would be ok.

@mntmn not trying to diagnose but simply add an anecdote ... My partner has long covid and the initial phase had her really struggling to find words, lots of brain fog, and forgetfulness like "why did I come into the laundry room?". And even years later if she gets sick, it comes back to some degree.

#Introduction I joined after Cambridge Analytica and came back after reading Enshittification. I'm mostly here to enjoy the community and expand what that means beyond the people I usually interact with. I started using #linux with redhat 5.2 but mostly #debian since. I've worked with #PowerElectronics for about 13 years. I like sharing what I know. And I like celebrating what others find interesting. I live in #Seattle and if you do too I'll probably follow you. I volunteer at a tool library.

To me it was always about the mathematical model when the population saturates their environment and stops increasing. https://www.nature.com/scitable/knowledge/library/how-populations-grow-the-exponential-and-logistic-13240157/ Over-burdened food supply chains, collapsing insect populations, global warming, and a resurgence of actual shit fascists all seem like great reasons to keep the proverbial dick in the pants.

This opinion piece resonated with me because I feel like my ability to focus has suffered since December. As I flit between one distraction to the next. I've tried various things to reclaim my attention and intention with little luck. As the author suggests, musing on an idea a day and coming back to it over and over to help build stronger pathways and seeking depth rather than breadth might be the key. Today's thought was a funny post on here where an autocorrected text said "What do you want from life?". While drinking my cover my attention drifted and I came back to it. I had the thought, this feels a lot like practicing meditation. So gonna try to add that to my todo. I find it interesting that usually meditation is going back to the breath and here I'm going back to a thought. One is training the muscle and one is using the strength ...

@eff government is bad but this is worse. They are for-profit companies without the same protections that *should* be afforded to the citizens by the government. For-profit companies selling data to a government that uses that fact as a loophole to hoover up data it should otherwise not be privy to. The for-profit companies are encouraged to erode our right and need of privacy in search of the holy dollar. The means will justify the end every time when the end is profit.
