@ariadne Last year I bought a ThinkPad and populated it with 128GB of RAM. The RAM alone is now worth more than I paid for laptop and RAM in 2025. And in a year’s time we are going to look back at the good old days of 2026 when 64GB of RAM only cost $800…

@dangillmor I’ve been using GrapheneOS on a Pixel 7 then a Pixel 8 Pro XL. It’s an excellent mobile OS despite Google’s efforts to hamstring it.

@ariadne This, so much this. I am shocked at how people have internalized the copyright lobby's propaganda. Copyright was originally a tool of censorship, the King of England would decide what books would be allowed to be printed or not, and all printing presses had to be licensed. Any similarity , etc, etc.

@ariadne boards can backstab, in fact may be forced to do so due to fiduciary responsibility when someone is acting as erratically as Mullenweg (see the OpenAI fiasco with Altman's firing). But they expose themselves to a proxy fight to be replaced and their time is limited. Unless they are planning on selling Automatic, but I don't see hoiw that can happen given his votes.

@ariadne Omarchy also has a strong AI angle. Peiter Steinberger, the author of OpenClaw, is one of the founders (I guess OpenAI must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse if he can afford to contribute $1M or more). I suspect they are aiming to be "the Linux for AI".
