A fabulous baseball/legal rabbit warren I stumbled upon last night—while watching the incredible Dodgers-Orioles game—into which one can dive and spend hours better understanding both baseball and law, amongst various and sundry related (and wholly unrelated) time-wasting matters[1]:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Common_Law_Origins_of_the_Infield_Fly_Rule1. @dalias @khm Will all the clean disposable shit matter when the lights go out and there's no more medical system?Whenever I'm in the med system myself -- I've had a few issues -- I'm appalled at the waste. It’s the poster child for wanton waste. And properly designed and funded, most thing's can be reused. But we’re too cheap and shitty to do that. We fall back on trite excuses every time. Because our imagination is dying with us.

@dalias @khm Scalpels are reused all the time, as are any number of other medical instruments.This is where some imagination could help us - imagining less waste.'Intermittent' (vs. indwelling) catheter users routinely disinfect and reuse their supplies, by the way.Nothing is impossible, given the will to make change.Will it ever be perfect? Doubtful.Is that a reason never to make the effort?
