       I have lived in #putney - which is part of the #london borough 'of #wandsworth - for roughly sixty years - and have been active in the #labourparty there for over fifty years. Over that period I have been a trade union member also - and have had various roles in both at different times - sometimes involving formal office. #putney has a #history  . It is where #thomascromwell came from and the home of the #putneydebates about #parliamentaryrepresentation .

       @gutenberg_org #Alkhwarizmi is commemorated in #khiva - which is now in western #Uzbekistán - where he was born and - I believe - buried.   In the 1920s there was briefly a #khwarizmian  people's republic which issued its own currency before being incorporated into the #sovietunion . This is based on direct personal observation made on a visit fifteen years ago - in 2011.
