       I think using LLMs for serious, mission critical applications is very dangerous.From my own experiments the chat bot will make incredibly stupid errors, mixed in with one or two insights.I think LLMs should be used by humans as a guide to action only.The central place that all these enormous capitalist firms have placed LLMs is very scary to me. These firms only want to make profit. Their bots will say anything to keep you hooked into the attention economy.

       Got disqualified from the BASIC jam on itch.io The thing that hurts the most though is everyone complaining that the game required the installation of an emulator (?) and that the instructions for the game were too terse (???)All the other games were made for windows, so I'm gonna call this a skill issue uwu

       @neauoire nah this was my GOBLINS game I wrote for Commodore 64 BASIC.The reason I was disqualified is that I did not do the game during the jam, but nowhere did it say you had to complete the game during the event.

       Dandelion BASIC Devlog.I feel like giving up on this attempt at Dandelion BASIC.The file is now 17KB full of bare metal assembly. Having to break this up into files now is going to be a nightmare to manage.Assembled, I am looking at about 1.3K ROM/Arduino flash used.Looking at the different C++ implementations, even they max out at thousands of lines of code.I need to figure out exactly what it is I am chasing when I try and put all this effort into something crazy like another BASIC.

       Been thinking about FORTH again.Are any good text editors, or other useful programs out there for the language?Please see the attached screenshot from the Minimalist Computing Facebook group.Once you start going over 2K of RAM with many microcontrollers, the price per unit climbs very steeply.Having some way to use less RAM than BASIC would be very advantageous from an economic perspective. It would mean that the permacomputer could cost far less to build.cf the Jupiter Ace.

       Got a couple of projects now with parts in the mail.This is a big test for me, I want to see if buying from AliExpress for these sorts of items is successful:- W4300 AMD Firepro workstation graphics card, new.- 8400mAh battery for my X230, non-OEM, new.I would normally buy these sorts of things from within Australia, especially a new graphics card.I realise it may be just a numbers game, and that even if these items end up being really useful, eventually I may get stung.

       I like the idea of digital gardens.I forget who here also talks about this, but it's a fairly popular idea on the fediverse.Going around the internet, you see a lot of loud voices and a lot of people repeatedly directing their attention to fads and jumping on bandwagons.Tech has its own issues with celebrity and other anti-social structures. I feel as if I need to quieten my mind from these things.I just wanna make a little garden and not trouble anyone.

       I'd still love to make my own MP3 / audio player. Either in the classic altoids tin, or in some fucked up lumpy jiffy box.Tech has moved on now, it would be so easy to do with a small Single Board Computer.
