Lots of people around me are doing heroin these days. To truly evaluate whether heroin is the right choice for me, I decided I needed to also start doing heroin. I started elementary as a high school student. When we were building the first versions of our desktop environment, one of our core developers was in high school and his parents accompanied him to the Ubuntu Developer Summit. How many things we have today wouldn’t exist if young people weren’t allowed to participate? The cost of not creating spaces that we can safely share with young people is too high

Anybody I know have experience with OpenCollective? I’m interested in trying to move elementary to a more community/nonprofit legal structure but I’m trying to wrap my head around how expenses work. Like how do I actually pay out digital ocean? Does some individual need to pay first and get reimbursed? There’s no direct way to pay expenses?

Went to a queer women’s event yesterday hosted by a friend who is a sex educator and we had a bunch of awesome discussions about disability! One story I found particularly interesting was about a blind person who was unable to access audio erotica because of the inaccessibility of apps and websites providing this kind of content. She introduced me to the term “arousal aid”—we love terms that erase stigma. And we talked about how to make her own website more accessible

I literally cannot conceive of a thing that isn’t about politics in our current society. My breakfast is about politics. The weather is about politics. When I buy groceries that’s politics. My job is a political act. When I spend time with friends later today that act will also be political. And not because we’ll be protesting but because existing as queer brown women in public is a political act. The fact that so many of my friends are disabled or neurodivergent or sex workers is political

But because it’s a massive contributor to the climate crisis, is disrupting our water supply, causing shortages which causes costs to rise, people are getting psychosis from using it, and it’s making everything less reliable
