got the PXI working today :3 i was so confused that the PCIe adapter card didn't show up at all before plugging in the cable, but turns out that version of the MXI-Express adapter i have just has a redriver on it and not the full PCIe switch.next step: replace that awful loud fan with a noctua.

@owiecc i need something off-the-shelf because i don't want to wind my own transformer and volume will be too low for custom.i'm mostly just thinking out loud here. output spec is +/-16V to feed an LDO to get clean +/-15V@150mA

there are times when @kicad just doesn’t cut it as a pcb editor and i have to rely on commercial tools.like when i forget to add the parts to the schematic and pcb in the first place.
