       @TeflonTrout It's decentralize or die at this point, this was never an "alternative." The Fediverse is the Real Internet now and you only belong here according to the effort and energy you give to it. Here we are not compelled to "deal with" arbitrary exponential growth, we are not compelled to comply to one set of rules that plays nice with real-world fascism and genocidal regimes. We don't even have to stay on the same universal version of any given protocol; maybe one server has a friendlier userbase, a nicer-looking UI or rules that are easier to follow.I came here for the digital freedoms I could stretch my limbs on, and stayed because most people here were more like me than I ever bargained for.
