Alright, since SNEK doesn't stop posting the ghost loli in a 'Game of Dubious Soul' I will tag and talk about my recent venture in that category. @SNEK @DrRyanSkeltonThe subject was Hazelnut HexThe game was introduced twice to my eyes by TEU, though only in mention alongside Like Dreamer and, maybe, Neko Navy since I actually haven't watched his actual review to this day. Time passes and last Shmupslam along its 'afterparty' stream by an attendant highlight the cereal game and its developer Chunderfins.So hearing the praises around it, and seeing Chunderfins himself uploaded 1.1 (and 1.0) to the Internet Archive, I fall for it and give it a spin.+It looks much better in-game+Despite its colors (seemingly) screaming that it's gonna live up to the sacraments of other western indie titles, no design legitimately trips up the souldeath detector+Second level midboss(2nd) hits you with the fact of the makers' heterosexuality+Fourth level has a cute ghost girl midboss, I believe her name is 'Hexwife'+Fifth level, a Heck of sorts and is that a one-piece swimsuit devilgirl WHOAH MOMMAI can't say it's the apex of everything forever yet ended up so pleasantly surprised by its totality rather than a few highlights, I forgot I had a bit of contention with the protagonist wearing spats - and I just remembered that, and had probably forgotten because I ended up with the impression they add rather than detract from the MC design in the artstyle.Long story short, the gameplay is real good in that it feels like a nice romp to credit feed through but sits you back down if you try to scrape through with little practice, if you're not actually good; problem is I felt like hot shit at the time for some reason and was gonna let it be as a result, but I got a visitor that really liked the game and so I put more proper practice and cleared on normal last week. So inside, all good; Dev side, he commentates a run in latest Shmupslam and looks like a normal -although citybound- dude; outside, surprised at the coverage this got and my guard would have been up higher had I known, but looking about did not yield decay: his (or their, a good number of people in the credits) next game has a bit of a Tartakovski look and characters look real bubbly and cute.
