@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange @glyph@mastodon.social @pfish.zone@bsky.brid.gy it's really odd. we, as the software community, have successfully banned the social behavior of "offering plagiarized and/or copyright-infringing code to a project". most people in open source don't do it!it annoys me that people seem to act like generative model use is a special category of use that has had no precedent ever. like when AI bros complain about being banned from non-AI art contents, but somehow photography being banned from a hand-drawn art contest is normal and never questioned

I found out that OpenComputers 1 has been forked and ported... with heavy AI assistance...Maybe I should come back to modding after all. I wonder if I could assemble a team to create a new computer mod. I don't think I have the stamina to go for it alone

@SRAZKVT@tech.lgbt there's a reason pico-8 and tic-80 were the most successful fantasy computers - i think the fact they stuck to scripting, especially Lua, and put the interesting fantasy parts elsewhere is a part of it

However, I'm worried about the long-term viability of the project, especially as issues or feature requests which cannot be solved by a stochastic machine crop up.

@mansalia@social.maid.zone I don't mind unkempt bearded men, I'm mostly annoyed by the fact they're not very appealing to me. I can buy merch online, I don't care much for concerts/guests, I don't really get to socialize much in a large crowd context, and I don't care that much about being in the sacred presence of Cosplayers. Community panels are cool, but traveling for many hours just for "YouTube At Home" is hard to justify.
