       @rl_daneI'm not arguing that CompSci is a craft. I just don't see it often exercised in that form (which to me means developing and pushing forward methods and ideas and seeing it as an art and not just a means to an end) rather than as a regurgitation of existing praxis in the context of the commercial web.

       Point of order: I have discovered in the course of my research compiling a blocklist of big media–owned domain names for my search engine that Disney owns sexy-beast.com and 101dalmatians.xxx.They're definitely the biggest offender I can find in terms of buying up every domain name tangentially related to their IP.

       It's getting to the point where I find it impossible to trust anyone who makes money saying things about tech, no matter how pure their intentions seem.That does not say good things about how the tech industry is going.

       @rl_dane @nathanuAs for filling the VPS storage, I'm guessing it was the media cache? That can take some tuning to get the storage size you need it to take up.Long-term, the database's storage also gets a bit unweildy since it never clears out old remote posts, even if they were never interacted with by people on the instance. I think that's on their radar to fix someday though.

       @orbitalmartianapt-get is an older interface for the same thing, essentially. Both will work, but apt is a little more modern.Both are a more user-friendly way to interact with the packaging system than dpkg. Not quite everything in apt-get is in apt but most is and all the most important stuff.
