I just got rained on but I was wearing a linen shirt, wool socks, and skirt that's synthetic but has a special textured weave that makes it harder for the water droplets to attach themselves

the skirt is kind of a babytrans skirt and that's deliberate. been adopting more babytrans elements into my wardrobe to signify my contempt toward the trans women who see themselves as "above all that" or inherently superior to the newly hatched

part of why i hate the idea of furry as an inherently leftist subculture is that i refuse to believe that any subculture has any political ideology as its essence. ultimately they are subcultures and subcultures are messy mixtures of whoever happens to be interested in them. a subculture may be majority-left or majority-right, but it's not gonna be politically unified to justify the "inherently x" label. any subculture that's politically unified is not a subculture, it's a political movement.

and for me? furry has been an important social substrate for meeting other leftists, anarchists, feminists, etc. we can celebrate this without assigning the furry subculture the tall order of being "inherently leftist".

like the fact that furry brings creatures together is enough to justify its existence as a subculture. the "meeting other leftists" part is a perk, and it exists because a lot of us did the boring unglamorous work of learning leftist theory and engaging in leftist praxis. "furry is leftist" smooshes this all together in an unhelpful way.

there's also this neurosis where people feel like everything they do has to be a form of activism, they're not allowed to do anything just for fun, and this is immensely corrosive to actual activist movements

Please credit it to the artist, or if you do not know who the artist is, leave a little note that it is not your own. Two reasons for this:1) I'm trying to find more artists to follow. I've had a bunch of times when I go "oh cool artist" at someone sharing a pic, only to scroll through their media tab and see that it's just a mishmash of drawings taken without attribution. Let's clear up the confusion beforehand with some good clear communication okay?2) This makes it easier for me to help you find the artist. I'm actually pretty good at tracking down artists from uncredited pics, even when their signature or watermark has been cropped out by unscrupulous distributors. If you like the artist's work enough to share it, don't you want me to help you find more of it?
