You all should read this fantastic post by @onepict about how, largely, AI people just can't leave us the fuck alone. But I'm noticing more and more and more that they get super mad when they wanna shove their #AI creation at you and you simply say, no thanks. That's it. I know #Signal is very popular, but at least for me, using NVDA, the desktop client is far less screen reader friendly than the mobile clients. The mobile clients work far better for me, but I honestly don't use my phone for much these days outside of being a media player that can make phone calls, so, as of right now, I'd recommend Delta Chat instead https://delta.chat/en/ #DeltaChat

As much as I hate the entire LLM/AI industry, and have nothing positive to say about any consumer AI company, there is something I deeply wish that AI critics would understand. There are thousands of real people out there that really, really, like consuming and even enjoying AI slop, and this includes generative fiction. I viscerally struggle with most mainstream AI/LLM critiques because even though the heart is in the right place, the execution makes me think, more times than not, this honestly should’ve just never been published. Or, this is the thing you could’ve privately talked about with your friends. That being said, videos like this one are highlighting areas of LLM consumption I rarely see talked about. Why is Linux and FOSS tripping over themselves to comply with Fascism surveillance capitalism instead of the long established international and national accessibility laws and accessibility guidelines and disability inclusion guidelines? I have long since ranted about the lack of tech literacy and how that’s intentional because fear comes from not knowing how stuff works and why it works. I just came across two different generations that have been trained to be afraid of links. younger than me, GenZ and older, GenX and so we broke down a link. The different parts of a URL, how to read a URL, the various components of a URL, how to find a URL inside of tracking garbage, how to tell the difference between HTTPS and HTTP and what each does and means, and why, and I explained what all the different parts of a URL tells the user and why. I think we went about tech literacy all wrong. People technically know how to use email, but they don’t know the half of what makes up an email address, why the @ sign is an @ sign to begin with, and a whole host of other things as just won example. That’s the kind of tech literacy I truly think we need more of. Like, instead of everybody telling me when I was younger that Wikipedia was terrible and should never be used, I wish my instructors would’ve taught me how to use the references. How to use the external links. How to track edits. Nothing complicated. I had to learn all that later on.And guess what, after breaking down every component of a URL, and teaching others how to read a URL, thoroughly, the fear of links dissipated. Oh Ugh! #Fastmail has HCaptcha. Bletch! Tried to do their 30 day free trial and, not only did they seem to block Google Voice numbers, but they have HCaptcha on almost every login/recovery page, and, no thank you. Gonna look at other email providers, but Fastmail is out for me, which is a shame because I love all the things they provide.HCaptcha is everywhere on almost all account activity things I tried. Creation, login, recovery, and other places. I had to do their accessibility cookie. I don’t know why I did not get there text challenge. When HCaptcha detected I had a Gmail address, they forced me to make an account. I made an account, applied the accessibility cookie, then immediately requested my account be deleted. HCaptcha said my account will be deleted within 20 hours. I can’t express how much I hate HCaptcha. #Email

Was unironically dubbed an internet genius today by people younger and older than me that were amazed that I could find things, research things, locate links and other information that their LM/agent could not locate/determine/find/comprehend. Gonna put basic research and comprehension skills in the special Skills section of my resume.
