@enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be thank you for confirming what I already knew. I studied Computer Science in college and learned about how this stuff works before all this AI bullshit started spreading. I always knew that the pile of linear algebra that spits out semi-random output is mathematically incapable of being correct. Now we have a proper study to point to.

Of all things to hear today, I didn't expect to read that the MAME arcade emulation project is doing a full codebase rewrite into Rust.........assisted by AI. Code reviewed by AI. And not directly supporting of Linux platforms any longer, and you know why? because the goddamn AI tools don't run on it!:acat_losingit:

some pointed out it might be an April Fools joke. But the post is dated of still today, 31st of March. And it reads just like every other FOSS project turning into AI bullshit. So it is pretty plausible, still.And if it IS a joke, it's in extremely poor taste, and I would still give them shit for even attempting something like that. You don't joke with that in these days.

I went out to a Warhammer tournament today, to sit down at a table in the corner and play some Battletech! 😆it was quite fun, we played a single 5k3u format match, with an objective so the battle didn't take forever while we attempt to dismantle each other's big robots.Had a lot of fun, even though I lost, hopefully we'll get this new guy to come along with our main group for campaigns next

Mooore Battletech! Today, we challenged two clueless Clanners, and the installation they were defending, to a batchall against six IS mechs. Results weren't pretty for them!Also, got back the two minis I left with a friend for him to paint, I love the end result. Left 4 more with him for the next batch.

Got some solo roleplaying done today! It was fun to make up a new party, a quest, a dungeon, and start crawling it by myself. Used my trusty White Box, and the methods from Solus to generate the dungeon itself. They ended up taking a lot of time and making a way bigger dungeon than I was intending to. I left three doors un-marked so I can expand it later when the party comes back to finish investigating. Probably next time I need a quick dungeon, I'll do the dice drop method I learned from Cairn's "Into These Strange Trees" instead.

@epsi@akko.wtf honestly don't bother. Seasons 1 and 2 were really really good, but it should have ended at season 3. Season 4 was pointless, only was made to justify the side shows that I didn't watch, and 5 apparently too.
