I added some custom emojis. I fixed the spelling on "Statler". And I expanded the post limit to 1500.I've considered whether to rewrite the code of conduct for clarity, but I don't want to change the substance. I like the uncommon fact that they are written in a positive/values frame rather than a negative/restriction frame.Mainly, I'm just focused on continuity.[More in reply]

       @mwl @fatsam Most of the time, there isn't really room (or patience) for a properly-supported argument on social media.I do like the occasional essay from an opposing perspective.But what we mostly get is some combination of rants, virtual signaling, rage bait, and partisan political propaganda.I guess there is a place for such things (consensus must be built for politics to work), but it's not conducive to clear-eyed objective thinking.It's not like I'm immune or anything. But I have moments of clarity. 😅

       @kevFor me, Hamlet's youth and immaturity is important subtext. He's a sullen teenager. With a sword and way too much latitude. So it always feels wrong to me when they have a full grown man playing him.@benhamill

       @davidrevoyI think my work is already rough enough. 😅Makes me sad, in a way.Also reminds of something I heard about handmade weavers and other artisans: which is that they would intentionally make occasional "errors" to differentiate their work from the machine-made stuff.I don't know how one would actually verify or refute that, but it seemed plausible enough.Also a bit like the popularity of coarse-ground breads in the 20th century after centuries of bakers struggling to make their product purer and smoother.@doctormo @slothrop
