       Machines don't care about religious festivities and want to be fed cryogenic fluids. And while this pretty new thing can last through four days with a full tank, five days is outside the scope of possibilities. Oh well. I wouldn't want to waste precious helium on an avoidable warmup.

       The pen was very cheap. The fuel definitely isn't. Oh well.I can get from "I can't squeeze any more into the tank" to "the fuel warning light comes on" in about seven to eight hours at long-distance speeds.

       Mom asked me to help check the washing machine's filter. It only turned into its unlocked position with a worrying crunch, and then refused to move anywhere. After a lot of swearing and pliers, I realized why. There's a great, big, rusty nail in it. What. How. Also, Deutsche Mark and toy ammo.

       Once everything was put back together, it started leaking, because of course it did. The rubber gasket was grimy and not very easy to clean. But still soft, despite being over 40 years old. I ended up just flipping it, so the clean side is pressed against the sealing surface. Fingers crossed!
