@ppulfer @gtronix It really seems like this AI plan is mostly focused on making a spin for AI developmentI have a lot of concerns about running AI, and not just privacy concerns. But if there's an optional spin for AI development then I think that's fantastic

@veronica It looks like Wayland desktops each need to solve the problem of scaling X11 applications by themselves, and each desktop handles it a bit differentlyIn this thread here a user does a good write up on how GNOME and KDE implements xWayland scaling in comparison to Wayfire https://github.com/WayfireWM/wayfire/issues/2719From the wording of the PR it looks like Wayfire implements compositor side scaling, while GNOME has a separate option for xWayland scaling https://github.com/WayfireWM/wayfire/pull/2955

@algebraicterror @Anarcat I personally wouldn't want to use that, installing a native binary kind of breaks the browser security model if coming from an untrusted source I'd prefer to use Chrome instead of doing that. But cool that someone has been playing with it

@arstechnica This is really really badI want to hear Red Hat's response to this. It seems like somehow someone was able to merge code into their repo. I'm very curious on how someone managed to do that, and what protections they have to prevent these kinds of merges. Sounds like they circumvented a review process, or didn't have a review process at all on the repoI'm sure Red Hat will have a full write up on this once they get all the details

@veronica The device is really interesting to me, and has a lot of the hardware features that I miss from old phones. I love that it's everything I love about older phones while maintaining modern features of new phones. The hardware is super neatBut I'm very happy with GrapheneOS, and I find not having a web browser on my phone to be something I don't truely desire. I need the ability to look things up and win arguments 😛

@veronica The big worry about this kind of hardware is not getting the proper software updates in the future Phones need a lot of support, and there are lots of security considerations to make. I would be skeptical about being an early adopter of something that could financially flop and not receive updates anymore
