       Part of me suspects the push to force gen AI into Open Source software is another front on the ongoing push to make the lying engine and the companies behind it 'too big to fail'. Make sure there's no alternative to turn to when things start breaking and the bubble pops so there really is no alternative but to give them public money to keep on making things worse.

Given the speed which both bowed to fascism, that is utterly chilling, as legitimate news sources will be rendered down to the level of AI generated clickbait and buried at the bottom of the bowl of homogeneous AI pulp we're get served, near impossible to tell apart from the state's chosen news like Fox or the Daily Wire unless you actively dig for it, which most people will not do.

       I kind of suspect the loud voices frustrated at Mastodon and declaring it dead or an echo chamber are doing so because they cannot find a way to rig the system in their favour or pay to win like Twitter.

       @davidgerard @pikesley @peter_mcmahan @madargon They hate that actual human beings have the ability to tell them they're wrong and say no to their propositions, while with AI, the answer is always yes and in their eyes, true personhood is only ever granted to people who agree with them.They're so narcissistic that outside perspectives are never sought, nevermind considered, so it only stands to reason the thing they really want to fuck is a sycophantic virtual mirror, as free of morals as they are, only in it's case it's a quirk of design rather than an intentional choice.

       @vwestlife Imagine being a tech youtuber and being so lazy or non tech savvy you can't or won't spend 15 minutes using free, non AI tools to make an image with a title.The impulse to make everything look professional by using a tool used by people who are profoundly unprofessional is baffling to me. Most of the best tech youtubers are the ones who are still a bit rough but are trying, you get to see the improvement video after video, they're not the ones who come in and take shortcuts.
