       @Ricardus I hear you, brother. Trump says we have to live with high prices as a kind of wartime sacrifice. I see coping with the sanctions other nations are starting to lay on us as somewhat the same thing. Different enemy. Different war. But it's part of how we win.

       @Ricardus Yeah, that whole thing--as precious as it is--did look a bit scripted. The priceless bit I mentioned actually did seem too good for spontaneous behavior (but it's still priceless).NASA actually *did* train the original seven astronauts in public performance. But, because of the seven NASA chose, it didn't take very well.I love that we're going back to the moon. I'm a little chagrined, though, that, instead of pilots, we're sending entertainers.

       @Ricardus Maybe not (and, their mistake, if you are). But, as much fun as that Fallon appearance was, it did become kind of painful as I realized how much of it was scripted. NASA has always known that "no Buck Rogers"' means "no bucks." But it's no fun when you realize that Buck is a part being played now.

       @Ricardus I have found a middle ground. I don't give hungry people money. I use my money to buy them something to eat.I leave anyone who tries to tell me that a hungry person's problems were self-inflicted to go fuck themself.Somewhat to my surprise, I sleep well after this.
