       I like to post something like this every now and again to remind me how far I have come.In 2019 my old life ended, nearly literally. In Spring 2020, it began again, much to my surprise.My little yard very much reflects how my mind works: it is built from broken, discarded things, but is ordered, growing and full of unusual delight.Pictures: the back yard of the house I moved in to in 2020, back then, and now. Every item, the pots, containers, compost & plants has been scavenged.#gardening

       @IngaLovinde @thomasfuchs I miss my first gen Kindle, in the days before I boycotted Amazon. I loved just downloading books, it was a wonderful experience. I wouldn't touch that shit with a barge pole now though.

       @stux A politician's job is to lie, thats exactly what we pay them for: so we can be told that its all ok whilst big money burns the house to the ground and we get to abdicate responsibility.They may lie, but its us that vote for them to lie to us on behalf of big oil, gas and tech.If you give power to those that seek it, then you can't realistically be surprised that they abuse it.

       @stux There is a reason why Douglas Adams in THHGTTG made the question to life the universe and everything more important than the answer.We are now finding out why the journey is more important than the destination when attempting to navigate the great filter of the Fermi Paradox.Its not the end result that counts, its the understanding that allows you to get there.This is our existential test and we shall live or die as a species depending how we respond to it.
