I think its not only a good adaptation of his work its got interesting special effects. The scene where Christine is basically junked and all her panels pop out and she regenerates was filmed in reverse, the cars panels were connected to a hydraulic ram system inside and they slowly pull the panels inward to crush her, then play it the other direction to make it look like the car is fixing itself.
