I try to use alt-text on my photos, although I sometimes forget. Inspired by @kavana here are descriptions of my profile photos. My avatar is a photo of me sitting at a table, wearing a dark sweater. My hair is very white. There is a laptop computer on the table and one hand is on the keyboard. The banner at the top of my profile is a photo of a cloudy sky with somewhat overeposed sun breaking through the clouds.

Did you get your #Wrapstodon for 2024? I shared 2,579 posts, gained 119 new followers, and my most-used hashtag was #Petition. Yup, there it is automatically suggested by my tablet's onscreen keyboard. Quite nice to get this the same day I quit Twitter. EDIT: I did not initially notice that above the cute cartoon of a Mastodon is a category based on my account activity here. Not sure what makes me a Cool-hunter, but I'm good with that.

@Gargron Checked my settings and "Feature me in discovery experiences" is turned off. For now, I'm happy with that. Maybe when it's been around a while I'll change my mind, but discoverability on line is something I approachvwith great caution.

@stux They just get cuter all the time! BTW, some virtual lounge lizard sent me a post trying to hit on me. One of those guys who only follows women, and whose only posts are pick-up lines to strangers. I called him out, got him angry, and have blocked him to end the "conversation." At the same time I was having a real conversation with someone about women experiencing harassment IRL. I told her about the guy and she suggested that if I need to change instances I should move to yours!

@stux Hello, Ball, nice to meet you. * Feeding strays may not be allowed, but I think it's a different situation if your intention is only to establish trust and get him to a veterinarian. @stux @fiend4coffee There are people near me who "adopt" strays, but don't actually take them in or, it seems, even get them to a vet. But they put out bowls of food, even build houses, and the result is scruffy looking feral cats running around killing songbirds and breeding more feral cats. Definitely unacceptable! Yet most get away with it. Some of these cathouses are in or near parks, so even more danger to birds. But what you're doing? I approve.
