During the migration, the relay stopped responding to IPv6. It has been fixed for https://holos.social.This issue helped find a bug in the app (crash during tunnel creation due to timeout).The regression when composing is also fixed (save message into drafts prompted when posting).For TestFlight users, the app is still waiting for validation but everyone who asked to join has been added to the beta testers group.#HolosSocial 1.3.0 should be available for everyone soon.

The next #Holos release will support reactions. Long press the like button to pick one. It will be compatible with other software that supports reactions like Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey, Sharkey, and Firefish. Can be disabled in settings.#HolosSocial

With #HolosSocial, your account lives on your phone. Your keys, followers and posts stay with you. The relay only holds incoming activities with a TTL, so your device can catch up when it reconnects.The cost of that privacy: lose the phone or uninstall without a backup, and the account is gone.Cloud backups exist for those who set them up. For everyone else, an encrypted backup through the relay is offered as a last resort. You pick a passphrase, the relay stores a sealed copy it cannot open.

#Holos 1.5.1 is available.UX improvements throughout the app, including VoiceOver and TalkBack labels. Quick access to interests from the Discover tab. Translation uses the app language and preserves mentions, hashtags and links. Reactions are now properly synced across all screens. When trying to follow a #Holos account from another account (Mastodon, Pleroma, etc.), seeing a pending request is normal even if the account is not locked. The server runs on the device and the relay cannot sign activities on its behalf, so the "Accept" is automatically sent once the app is back online.#HolosSocial

#HolosSocial isn't bringing something new to the #Fediverse, especially not to #ActivityPub. It builds on what exists, without mimicking any platform.Every social network has been given its fediverse clone. Asking people to hold a separate account on each is taking the problem backwards.If the fediverse keeps mirroring the GAFAM, it loses. The point was never to rebuild their world, but to offer something else: one identity across every content.HolosSocial is simply a try. But we can do it.

Multi-device support is progressing well for #HolosSocial. The tricky part: each device runs its own #ActivityPub server, with its own local data, signing its own activities. Keeping several servers in sync both ways, without duplicating everything, without losing actions on the way, and without two of them handling the same activity at the same time, was the main problem to solve. It also had to stay reliable when a device goes offline for hours or days.(1/3)
