       My husband enjoyed a few brawls, too, then he did the MMA thing, but decided against cauliflower ears & floor mat herpes... plus any injuries towards job loss. It's OK to hang things up. Psychological warfare is warfare, too, hehe.

       Wow! What's NLP? 🤔 My husband had terrible seasonal allergies pretty much his whole life until one spring he thinks he exposed himself so much dealing with hip-high weeds on new property... bad then, but never really again.

       Sorry, this subject is so fascinating to me... do you really think the establishment is clueless to epigenetic changes?? I've long wondered that they don't know EXACTLY what they're doing with vaccines, fluoride, GMO's, etc... beyond the level of what we know/assume even.

       Every kid is different, too. Another son of yours probably didn't need that level of "engagement," lol. One of my sons really only needs/ever needed stern words at times... my 2nd son is fairly autistic, but he knows exactly what he's doing & he needs hard punishments. Only took a bit & now it's 95% just threats. Third is a weird mix. At times he's very sensitive & I'm careful then. Other times he thinks he can smack me just for dumb frustration...I smack harder, buddy. Lol (it's only butts & occasional upper arms, btw).

       I might be wrong, but IMO abuse comes from a selfish, reckless place. Discipline is thought out (& controlled, despite what the zero-corporal-punishment, mostly-childless crew here thinks).Abuse is also often genuinely injurious for the sake of being injurious, & leaves kids more tainted than with any respect for you. My mom spanked me quite a bit, Dad some, & no ill feelings.
