       @dalias I certainly notice how people going off about QC are almost entirely uninterested in the very real issues with MFA and device beased authentication. In fact... I have noticed it seems almost exclusively used to either distract from more present security problems or to advertise passkeys.

       @Gargron @aglimme @codemonkeymike "Not something I like/agree with/accept" and "Not what it's being sold as" are two different concepts. The latter just happens to be a more convincing argument when talking to people who may have different expectations.

       @0xabad1dea @glyph @pfish.zone It's like these people have never moderated something. A rule like this is a tool you use to get rid of people when you see them acting questionably before things escalate. If someone hides indeffinately, then they are actively avoiding causing obvious behavior. This may be worse... but it's also the kind of thing that isn't going to deteriorate the social environment.
