@stsmith01 Here’s the thing I’ve observed about everyone I’ve met who is second generation imported. This goes for Muslims, Hindus, and asians, and third world Spanish speaking imports.They want nothing to do with the language, culture, or religion of their parents. They are rejecting that bullshit, which is encouraging. I have an Indian intern right now who can’t wait to eat a cheeseburger for the first time after his parents pay for his college. 😂😂 He hates the Hindu religion and culture.

@Dan_Ramos Doesn’t this go for any tool that an employee owns, though. In 2005, I built an automated test set. 3, actually at $80K each. That freed us up from having to do a shitload of manual testing. There was no expectation that we could just sit on our hands, we were just more productive. We had time to streamline other processes and improve output. We never ran ourselves out of work, we never got laud off, we ensured continued business, what we were paid to do. 🤷♂️

@Dan_Ramos I think the bosses will figure it out. AI slop-code seems to be making a lot of products worse. AI coding has it’s place, but needs serious oversight from a capable, real code-monkey. From an electrical engineering perspective, it’s been great for making people who only know enough to be dangerous make some pretty useful tools that take some of the weight off an already overstretched team. I’m sure it will bite is, but not today.

Finally have everything fixed after taking a surge from a lightning strike while I was on vacation. Don’t think it was a direct hit, but definitely took out a few things in the house. One of those things was my six-month-old washer. I have to hive it to Speed Queen. Their seven-year parts and labor warranty really does cover everything. We told them it was a lighting strike and they still honored the warranty. That’s stunning. Find me another washer manufacturer who does that. Good luck.

One of the guys in my pinball league threw a summer party at his house today. He has 52 pinball machines in is house. Quite the impressive collection. About 30 of those machines were purchased factory new at 10K a piece. All premium editions. His collection is worth more than my own home. Part of his collection pictured. And the beer fridge. 😂

@Invictus Eh, maybe. There are plenty of cheap tons to live in around central PA. You just have to drive to the next town to find a tech job, though. My house in the quaint little town closest to me would cost about $550K just for the ‘prestige’ of being in town. I’d also pay another $2K in taxes every year. Don’t worry. Democrats will win in November and we’ll all look back and laugh at how cheap everything was.
